Our Guest: Lamont Bain, Science Operations Officer (SOO) - NWS Flagstaff

Lamont Bain became the Lead Meteorologist at Fort Worth/Dallas before moving into his current role as Science Operations Officer (SOO) at NWS-Flagstaff.  He is responsible for training the staff and keeping abreast of the latest meteorological/technological advances for research projects in the office.  Lamont graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.S. in Meteorology and received his Masters in Atmospheric Science from the University of Alabama-Huntsville.

Otherwise known as BoKnowsWeather on social media for the last 10 years, Bo Cole has been in the social media realms working to change the way weather is delivered. He attended school for Meteorology at Mississippi State. Since then, he has had videos featured on all major networks, including ABC News, Weather Channel, Accuweather, The Weather Network, and several more! He interned for WeatherNation when it was local in the Minneapolis area, under Paul Douglas and his team. Bo also does consulting for snow removal and landscaping companies.

Our Guest: Melanie Metz

Melanie had a passion for storms since she was a young girl living in Arizona. In high school, photography became her other love. She has been on the road with her camera every spring for over 20 years chasing tornadoes.  Melanie was one of a pair of chasers on the WE Network "Twister Sisters" program.  She was a chaser for Fox 9 News in Minneapolis.  Her tornado photo graced the poster for the movie 13 Minutes.  And recently, she has partnered with Girls Who Chase all while winning the 2021 Storm Chaser of the Year award capturing an astonishing 37 tornadoes last year!

Our Guest: Dr. Scott Dennstaedt, Aviation and Weather Expert

 Dr. Scott Dennstaedt was originally employed by the NWS as a research meteorologist. In the late 1990s, Scott earned his commercial pilot certificate and became a full-time flight instructor. In 2008, he founded AvWxWorkshops Inc. to teach general aviation pilots how to minimize their exposure to adverse weather. Scott is the co-author of Pilot Weather: From Solo to the Airlines and earned his PhD in Infrastructures and Environmental Systems from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
